The Unisphere in Flushing Meadows basks in the sunlight
Built for the 1964-1965 World’s Fair, the Unisphere in the Flushing Meadows section of Queens is the largest globe ever constructed. It stands 12 stories high and weighs more than 700,000 pounds. It’s a perfect landmark for Queens, as the borough has more cultural diversity than any other region in the world!
